Join us live online as Dr. Ida Chung reviews the different factors to consider when prescribing refractive errors in young children. Developmental aspects of hyperopia, astigmatism, myopia, and anisometropia will be reviewed as they relate to the management of refractive errors. Prescribing guidelines based on patient age and visual findings will be provided. Be prepared to participate in live polling of various cases.

COURSE GOALS:
1. Factors to consider when managing refractive error in young children.
2. Apply hyperopia's developmental aspects to managing refractive errors in young children.
3. Apply astigmatism's developmental aspects to managing refractive errors in young children.
4. Apply myopia's developmental aspects to managing refractive errors in young children.
5. Apply the developmental aspects of anisometropia to the management of refractive errors in young children.
6. Select appropriate prescriptions for various refractive errors

Dr. Ida Chung Headshot
Dr. Ida Chung is a pediatric optometrist at WesternU Health Eye Care Institute in Pomona, CA. She graduated from the SUNY College of Optometry in 1993 and completed her pediatrics and binocular vision residency at the Pennsylvania College of Optometry in 1994. She obtained her fellowship from the College of Optometrists in Vision Development in 1996 and became a fellow of the American Academy of Optometry in 2001. Dr. Chung is the Associate Dean of Academic Affairs and associate professor of optometry at Western University of Health Sciences College of Optometry.
