Our Speakers

Bruce Dornn, O.D.

Born and raised in Southern California, Dr. Dornn graduated from the New England College of Optometry in Boston. A member of the Manitoba Association of Optometrists, Canadian Association of Optometrists (CAO), and AOA, Dr. Dornn is licensed to practice in both the U.S. and Canada. Dr. Dornn practiced in Denver for several years before moving to Canada where he founded Dornn Eye Care. Over the last 15 years, he developed a Dry Eye Center of Excellence and founded Eye-Revive Inc. Dr. Dornn’s clinic offers an extensive line of dry eye products, dry eye treatments and ocular aesthetics. Over the last 7 years, he has developed practice management resources, educational courses and published a textbook (“Envision”) for optometrists interested in starting a dry eye specialty and/or incorporation of ocular aesthetics into their clinics.

Chris Wroten, O.D.

A graduate of Southern College of Optometry prior to completing a residency in hospital-based primary eye care at the Memphis Veterans Affairs Medical Center, Dr. Wroten practiced for two years in the greater Memphis area before returning home to Louisiana in the summer of 2005 to become a partner in what is now the Bond-Wroten Eye Clinics, with three offices in southeast Louisiana. Dr. Wroten serves as the clinic’s Chief Operating Officer and supervises its Family Practice Residency and Optometric Externship Programs, both of which he founded. In that capacity, he has held appointments as adjunct professor at three schools and colleges of optometry, including SCO, UAB, and UIW-RSO. Dr. Wroten has twice been elected president of the Optometry Association of Louisiana, and still serves on its Legislative and Education committees, co-chairing the latter. He also currently serves on the Louisiana State Board of Optometry Examiners, the AOA’s Federal Relations Committee, moderates the AOA’s Presidents’ Council meetings, and has received numerous state, regional and national professional awards. He serves on numerous optometry- and non-optometry-related boards and committees, including the Southern Regional Educational Congress of Optometry (SECO). Dr. Wroten has participated in clinical research, authored clinical case reports and eyecare articles, lectured as a continuing education speaker, and presented educational posters and workshops at regional and national optometric conferences. In addition to primary eye care, his special areas of interest lie in the treatment and management of ocular disease and contact lenses.
