Biffi, OD, MSc, FAAO Course: The course focuses on reviewing the most up-to-date information on diagnosing and managing Age-Related Macular Degeneration (ARMD) using multi-modal imaging technologies, such as SD-OCT, OCT-Angiography, and Fundus Autofluorescence. Via interactive discussions and case-based presentations, the course presents well-annotated images for various stages of ARMD, demonstrating how data extracted from an instrument can transform into valuable clinical information used in clinical decision-making. The course will further capitalize on the knowledge gained to review future ARMD therapy developments. The foundation provided in this course possesses all the necessary tools for diagnosing and managing ARMD in day-to-day clinical practice. Dr. Biffi received her Bachelor in Science degree from the University of Massachusetts summa cum laude. She earned her Doctor of Optometry and a Masters in Visual Sciences degrees from NECO, and completed advanced residency training in Ocular Disease at State University of New York (SUNY) College of Optometry. Dr. Biffi’s professional interests include advanced procedures and imaging technologies employed in the diagnosis and management of ocular diseases. Dr. Biffi is the founder and the author of OCTaVIA, a novel smartphone app for retinal Optical Coherence Tomography (OCT) VIsual Atlas. She is the recipient of numerous educational awards, a consultant for multiple research grants and an invited lecturer at national and international meetings.

Bloomenstein is a 1990 graduate of the University of California at Los Angeles with a degree in Biology. He received his optometric degree from the New England College of Optometry in 1994. After graduation, Dr. Bloomenstein finished a residency in secondary ophthalmic care at the Barnet Dulaney Eye Center in Phoenix, Arizona. He received his fellowship from the American Academy of Optometry in December 1998. Currently, Dr. Bloomenstein is the Director of Optometric Services at the Schwartz Laser Eye Center in Scottsdale, Arizona, and President of MRB Eye Consultants. Dr. Bloomenstein is on the editorial board of Primary Care of Optometry News, Review of Optometry, Optometry Times, Modern Optometry, Optometric Management, and a frequent contributor to other various optometric journals.
